Dorgard ORIGINAL Fire Door Retainer
Original Dorgard Fire Door Retainer
During the day, it can be tempting to open the fire doors in your property, perhaps using a chair or box as a prop and allowing people to pass through easily. However, did you know, this is technically against the law and could be extremely dangerous in the event of a fire. These props are unable to move themselves and, as such, they would facilitate the spread of flames from room-to-room.
How does the Dorgard Fire Door Retainer work?
The Dorgard Fire Door Retainer is quickly and easily installed at the base of the fire door and, from here, it can hold the door open at any angle. Thanks to its sophisticated built-in technology, it is able to continuously monitor the surrounding environment for the sound of a fire alarm. If an alarm was to sound at any point, the fire door guard automatically releases and allows the door to close.
Before installing you should make sure that your fire door has an effective door-closing mechanism already in place. It is also important to note that, before it will release the door, the Dorgard Fire Door Retainer must register a fire alarm of 65db for 20 seconds or more. If you wish to retain the fire doors in your property – whilst adhering to both strict safety regulations and the law, the Dorgard Fire Door Retainer is a highly reliable choice.
