Deafgard detects the sound of a fire alarm. After a continuous alarm of 10 seconds at a level 60 - 90 db the Deafgard flashes an integral strobe and activates an under pillow vibration pad. Under the mandatory terms of the DDA all hoteliers are legally obliged to make provision for the needs of the deaf and hard of hearing.

The Deafguard also incorporates an alarm clock. It is portable unit and uses 4 x C size alkaline batteries. It can be easily be moved from room to room.
